Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Press Halyna Yatsenko became the winner of the International Literary Competition “Coronation of the Word”. This is one of the most famous literary competitions in Ukraine, which dates back to 1999 and has many nominations from novels to song lyrics.

The diploma in the nomination “Song Lyrics” was won by the collection of poems “Victorious”, which included the poems “Woman, will you stand!”, “Is it necessary?..”, “Tear of life”, “Crying”, “We will win”, “Mary’s city”, dedicated to the indomitability of Ukrainians during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

“Although I have many victories in all-Ukrainian and literary competitions, the victory in the International Literary Competition “Coronation of the Word” is one of the most important, because it is about the fulfillment of my dream. After all, I remember watching the “Coronation of the Word” advertisement on TV back in the tenth grade and secretly hoping that someday I would also take part in this competition. In addition, the galaxy of winners in 2001 was impressive – Vasyl Portyak, Volodymyr Lys, Iren Rozdobudko, Maryna Hrymych, Myroslav Slaboshpytsky. These are names that have become iconic for Ukrainian literature. In 2023, I submitted my collection of poems to the competition. I waited two years for the results to be announced, because during the war, the award ceremony was held in nominations at various festivals. Today I hold this diploma in my hands and am very happy that my work was so highly appreciated! ”- shares Galyna Yatsenko.
